Profile

Much of my work stems from a personal interest in the amount of waste generated by modern society, particularly how we fail to take advantage of the resources and inspiration offered by everyday objects. By scouring, scavenging, photographing and hoarding I have amassed a collection of “treasure” that I can use as inspiration, as components within a piece, or reinterpret into new and unlikely pieces of jewellery.

I am also fascinated by the way we interact with packaging - one of the largest and fastest categories of consumer waste. Packaging, although very deliberately designed and then paid for as part of any purchase, is almost invisible in its status as a commodity. It is an object so disposable that often we do not realize we have consumed it at all.
